Villeneuve-Loubet, Between Medieval Village and Modern Marina
Villeneuve-Loubet is a town of two halves: the medieval village perched on a hill, dominated by its 13th-century fortress visible from the coast, and the modern seaside marina of Villeneuve-Loubet Plage, developed from the 1970s with its wave-shaped towers by architect André Minangoy. The commune is also the birthplace of Auguste Escoffier, father of modern French cuisine, whose museum is housed in his childhood home.
Ideally positioned between Nice (20 km) and Antibes (8 km), Villeneuve-Loubet provides quick access to the entire Côte d'Azur from a quieter, more residential setting. The Loup river, which meets the sea at Villeneuve, marks the historic boundary between the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes.
