Holiday Rentals in Brue-Auriac

A Provençal village in inland Var, between the Sainte-Baume massif and the Verdon: authentic farmhouses and bastides off the beaten track.

Brue-Auriac: an Off-the-Beaten-Track Var Village

Brue-Auriac is a village of 600 inhabitants tucked into inland Var, between the Sainte-Baume mountain and the Brignoles basin, well away from the major tourist routes. This small Provençal village preserves its authentic character with stone lanes, a wash house, a village fountain and AOC Côtes de Provence vineyards.

Its position well back from the coast (60 km from Toulon, 70 km from Marseille) guarantees complete tranquillity and cool summer nights, while still providing swift access to the Var's landmark sites: the Sainte-Baume massif, the Abbaye de La Celle, the troglodyte caves of Cotignac, and the Gorges du Verdon (1h).

Our Farmhouses and Bastides in Brue-Auriac

CasaBooking offers rural properties in inland Var, for stays in the midst of authentic Provençal countryside.

Provençal Farmhouses with Pool Among the Vines

Our farmhouses in Brue-Auriac are ringed by vineyards and garrigue scrubland. Dressed stone, coloured shutters, pools set among olive trees and views over the Var hills — the very image of an authentically Provençal holiday.

Things to Do in Brue-Auriac and Inland Var

The Sainte-Baume massif (30 km away), an exceptional beech forest at 1,000 metres altitude, shelters the Grotte de Marie-Madeleine, a major pilgrimage site reached by a spectacular hiking trail. The Cistercian Abbaye de La Celle (8 km, Brignoles) can be visited and houses a gastronomic hotel-restaurant.

Cotignac (15 km), the village of troglodyte tufa cliffs, and the thermal springs of Carces (Lac de Carces) make rewarding half-day excursions. Wine estates around Brignoles and Cabasse offer tastings of Var rosés and reds from the Coteaux Varois appellation.

CasaBooking in the Deep Var
