Holiday Rentals in Bormes-les-Mimosas

The flower village of the Lavandou coast to Cap Bénat: character villas and Provençal bastides with CasaBooking.

Bormes-les-Mimosas, the Flower Village at the Heart of the Maures

Bormes-les-Mimosas is one of the most beautifully flowered and picturesque communes in the Var. Its medieval hilltop village — with narrow lanes adorned in bougainvillea, wisteria and mimosa in bloom from January to March — commands a breathtaking panorama over the Îles d'Or (Port-Cros, Porquerolles, Le Levant) and the Maures massif. Consistently ranked among France's most floral communes, Bormes hosts hundreds of thousands of blooms on display each year.

The commune stretches from the Maures mountain range all the way to the sea, encompassing the beaches of Cabasson and Cap Bénat — among the wildest and most unspoilt stretches of coastline on the Côte d'Azur. Just 4 km away, Le Lavandou offers some of the finest white-sand beaches in the Var.

What to Do in Bormes-les-Mimosas and Beyond

The medieval village is best explored on foot along its flower-festooned stairways, past the Château Louis de Savoie, the Romanesque chapels and the Église Saint-Trophyme. Below the village, La Favière is a lively pleasure harbour where ferries depart for Porquerolles (45 min), Port-Cros (30 min) and Île du Levant.

The Maures massif offers hiking trails through chestnut and cork oak forests to the Chartreuse de la Verne (12th century) and its panoramic ridges. The Route du Mimosa passes through Bormes each January during the flowered corso parade.
